Just managed to finished this model on time for the Airfix competition in Singapore. The kit has been haul for a while after applying the basic camo color. So far this is one of the best Airfix kit I owned, I actually won it from the last year Airfix competition. The mold was supreme and the amount of detail in the kit was excellent too. The Gloster Javelin looks huge after building and it does carry a certain amount of weight as compare to other 1/48 scale model as I believe the plastic used seems to be a better quality.
There are a total of Four Gloster Javelin entries for the competition. Mine came in Third for the senior category. Below are some of the shots for the work in progress and finished model.
As usually, the cockpit was the first part of the assembly. I decided to build the kit out from the box without any 3rd party upgrade. The cockpit is very detail.
In order to get it right, I did spend some times on the masking of the camouflage.
Next will be the bottom of the plane. I used the Mr color Super silver with a black base coat to give a subtle shades.
I mixed the paint with a small amount of black and Mahogany color for the post shading.
Like this Miniature jet fighter model very much? You can purchase the actual model here
